Know What Matters
Through the OurVote platform, you will be able to see what matters most to your constituents in three keys areas. You will be able to see:
1) which ministerial portfolios they believe are the most important to get right (via rankings).
2) how your citizens currently rate performance in each of those portfolios (with suggested focus areas); and, lastly,
3) where their ethics don't align to current legislation (i.e. current laws on abortion, euthanasia, refugee rights, fossil fuels etc).

These three elements give you the ability to narrow your focus on areas that matter and areas your citizens want to see change.
Electoral Insights for Voting
OurVote will catalogue each matter before Parliament, in accordance with the societal categories we have in our data, in order to provide you with insights on what your citizens think about the matter at hand.

The correlation and strength of data will be clear to you, and timestamped, so that your electorate knows what you had to work with. Where data is weak, OurVote will send a pop-quiz to all citizens in an attempt to give you the best possible data prior to the vote.

Interact with Citizens
OurVote will visualise for citizens how well they are being represented, with a voting alignment score and flags for each vote taken (votes with weak data will be automatically 'null').

Inside the dashboard for any vote, citizens will be able to review your explanation, with the ability to 'like' or 'comment'. These will be open for your team to officially respond.
​
All users will be asked to remain polite and constructive. Abusive citizens will be censured, with time-based and then total bans, if they cannot retain composure in expressing their views.
Communicate Effectively
We are aware legislative matters are complex and not all voting choices will be black and white. We also expect you will often do more research than the average citizen on a topic, which may lead to a voting conviction misaligned with your electorate.
For this reason, OurVote will enable you to provide your summary of the information relevant to your vote (essay, links and webinars (live and recorded options)).

We believe it is critical this function exists, so that you can explain your voting choices and your electorate can re-validate their faith in your representation.​

Using OurVote in Elections
Candidates will have the opportunity to answer questionnaires, building a profile of what they believe (to show how well they align to the electorate).

They will also have the opportunity to pledge to use OurVote for the coming electoral term, which we envisage will strengthen their candidature.
​
In short, OurVote will help you know what your electorate wants, so that you can invest your time in getting it done.
